What sports does ReplayR work for?

TL;DR. ReplayR is one app, not fourteen. There are no sport-specific modes, and the only setting that meaningfully changes between sports is buffer length, which should match the natural unit of review: 45 seconds for a tennis rally, a volleyball point or a cricket delivery, 90 seconds for a hockey shift or a gymnastics routine, three minutes for a rugby passage of play. One app, no sport modes

Most video analysis platforms sell themselves by sport, with a soccer product, a basketball product and a swim product that are largely the same software behind different marketing. ReplayR does not work that way. It is a rolling-buffer camera: it continuously holds the last stretch of footage in memory and throws the rest away until you tap save. That mechanism is identical in every sport, which is why there is no mode to select and no sport to configure.

What genuinely differs between sports is how far back a save needs to reach. In tennis the cause and the consequence are seconds apart, so 45 seconds is plenty. In rugby a defensive error on phase two produces a try on phase seven, so you need three minutes to capture both. Getting that one number right is the whole of sport-specific setup.

Buffer length by sport

The app is the same in every sport. The only setting worth changing is the buffer length, which should match the natural unit of review, the shortest stretch of play that still contains the cause of what you are looking at rather than only its consequence.

Choosing a buffer length

45 seconds, short and repeated

A serve, a lift, a delivery, a swing, a rally. The action is over in seconds and repeats many times per session. Free tier.

90 seconds, one continuous passage

A hockey shift, a gymnastics routine, a basketball possession, a sprint block. Roughly a minute of continuous action with a clear start and end. Free tier.

3 minutes, structured play

A rugby passage across several phases, a full over, a soccer attacking sequence from the goalkeeper. Where the cause is well upstream of the consequence. Pro unlock.

6 or 12 minutes, rare

Long-form work: an entire routine plus warm-up, a full sparring round with the reset either side, a complete drill sequence you want intact. Pro unlock.

What stays the same in every sport

On-device only. No account, no cloud upload, no analytics SDK. Footage never leaves the phone unless you export a specific clip. That matters most when you are filming minors, though it does not replace your club's media-consent policy.

Save from wherever you are standing. The phone films from the tripod; you save with a tap on a paired Wear OS watch, via a Tile or Complication, or with an open-palm gesture on Pro when you are the one in front of the lens. The Bluetooth link needs no network, so pool decks, rinks and rural pitches all behave the same.

Fixed storage regardless of session length. The buffer overwrites itself, so a three-hour training session costs the same disk space as a twenty-minute one. Only the clips you explicitly kept are ever written.

What sports does ReplayR work for?

Any sport where the moment worth reviewing is short and unrepeatable. ReplayR currently has dedicated guides for tennis and padel, volleyball, cricket, baseball and softball, golf, gymnastics, basketball, ice and field hockey, martial arts, swimming and track, youth soccer, rugby, weightlifting form checks, and dance. The app itself is sport-agnostic, there is no per-sport mode to select. The only thing that changes between sports is how long the rolling buffer should be, from 45 seconds for a tennis rally to three minutes for a rugby passage of play.

Is there a mode I need to pick for my sport?

No. ReplayR has no sport-specific modes, presets or detection. It is a rolling-buffer camera: it continuously keeps the last stretch of footage and discards the rest until you save. That is why it works equally well for a sport with no guide on this page. Set the buffer to roughly the length of your natural unit of review, mount the phone, and the workflow is identical everywhere.

What if my sport is not listed?

It will still work. The guides exist to save you the setup thinking, not to enable anything. Pick the listed sport whose rhythm most resembles yours and copy its buffer length: short and repeated like a serve or a lift, use 45 seconds; a continuous passage of a minute or so, use 90 seconds; extended structured play, use three minutes. Coaches use ReplayR for skateboarding, surfing, climbing, fencing, rowing, equestrian and pet training without any dedicated guide.

Does the buffer length change anything else?

It changes memory use and how far back a save reaches, nothing else. A longer buffer means each saved clip is longer, so the file is larger, but the rolling buffer itself never grows without bound at any setting. Battery draw is driven mainly by capture resolution and screen state rather than buffer length, so stealth mode matters more than the buffer for a long session.
