Privacy Policy — Replayr
Last updated: April 1, 2026
Replayr ("the App") is a sports video replay application developed by Erwan Alliaume ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data.
Summary
Replayr does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All videos and app data remain on your device.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- No personal information (name, email, phone number)
- No location data
- No device identifiers or advertising IDs
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No crash reports sent to external services
- No cookies or tracking technologies
Device Permissions
The App requests the following device permissions, used solely for local on-device functionality:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Camera | Record video for the rolling replay buffer. Video is stored locally on your device only. |
| Microphone | Capture audio alongside video recordings. Audio is stored locally on your device only. |
| Storage / Media Library | Save replay clips to your device's photo/video library when you choose to keep them. |
These permissions are used exclusively for the app's core functionality. No data from the camera, microphone, or storage is ever transmitted off your device.
How Your Data is Handled
- Video recordings are stored as temporary files in the app's cache directory during buffering. When you save a replay, the clip is moved to a staging area for review. Clips you keep are saved to your device's media library. Clips you toss are moved to an in-app bin and automatically deleted after 24 hours.
- App settings (resolution, buffer duration, gesture sensitivity, etc.) are stored locally on your device using the file system. No settings data is transmitted.
- Hand gesture detection uses an on-device machine learning model (TFLite BlazePalm). Camera frames are processed entirely on your device — no images are sent to any server.
Third-Party Services
The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The following SDKs are used for local functionality only:
- Expo / React Native — app framework (no data collection)
- FFmpeg Kit — local video processing (no network access)
- TFLite — on-device machine learning for gesture detection (no network access)
- Expo Updates — checks for over-the-air app updates (no personal data transmitted)
Smartwatch Companion Apps
Replayr offers optional companion apps for Wear OS and Apple Watch. These companion apps:
- Communicate with the phone app only via local device-to-device messaging (Wearable Data Layer API on Android, WatchConnectivity on iOS)
- Do not transmit any data to external servers
- Do not collect personal information
- Only exchange session control commands (save, pause, duration settings) and status updates (recording state, clip count) between the paired phone and watch
Children's Privacy
The App does not target children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App collects no personal data from any user, it is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
Since the App collects no data from any user, there is no information for us to delete on request.
Data Security
Since all data remains on your device and no data is transmitted to external servers, there is no risk of data breach from our side. Your videos and settings are as secure as your device itself.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Temporary buffer files: automatically deleted when the buffer rotates or the app is closed
- Staged replays: remain until you keep or toss them during review
- Binned clips: automatically deleted after 24 hours
- Kept clips: saved to your device's media library — managed by your device's standard photo/video app
- App settings: deleted when you uninstall the App
You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing app data in your device settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
This privacy policy applies to the Replayr app and its companion watch apps available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
