Terms of Service — Golf Elbow Oracle
In a nutshell
Golf Elbow Oracle is a self-management mobile app for recreational golfers recovering from golfer’s elbow. It tracks your morning stiffness, guides daily rehab exercises, and adapts a “9-Hole Round” progression plan based on what you log. The app is provided “as is”, with no medical warranty. By installing or using the app you accept these Terms.
1. Who provides this app
The app is built and published by an independent developer (“the publisher”, “we”). The publisher is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC, Apple Inc., or any clinical body. “Google Play”, “Firebase”, and “Google Cloud” are trademarks of Google LLC.
2. What the app does
Golf Elbow Oracle is a React Native client (Expo) that runs on your phone. It:
- Lets you log morning stiffness, completed exercises, and per-exercise pain.
- Renders a daily 3-exercise plan (stretch, strengthening, drill) calibrated from yesterday’s stiffness using a traffic-light decision (
go/hold/rest). - Tracks recovery as a 9-Hole Round progression and surfaces in-hole golf points.
- Backs up your logs to the publisher’s backend (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring) so you can switch installs.
- Manages optional subscriptions through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat.
The full data inventory, processors, and retention policies live in the Privacy Policy.
3. What the app does NOT do
- It does not provide medical advice, diagnose any condition, or replace consultation with a qualified clinician.
- It does not run ads, sell your data, or use your data to train third-party AI models.
- It does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photos, or messages.
- It does not include third-party analytics or trackers beyond the Firebase SDKs documented in the Privacy Policy.
4. Eligibility and your responsibilities
- You confirm you are 18 or older. The app is not directed at children under 13 and is rated 18+ on the Play Store.
- You agree the app is a self-management tool, not a medical device. If you experience red-flag symptoms (numbness, weakness, severe night pain, swelling, or pain unrelated to load) you will stop using the app and consult a clinician.
- You are responsible for the security of your device and the Google/Apple account you sign in with.
- You comply with the Google Play, Apple App Store, and Google Cloud / Firebase terms applicable to your use of the app.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code for the purpose of bypassing subscription gating, RevenueCat entitlements, or platform billing rules.
- Use the app in any way that violates Google Play or App Store policies, Google Cloud / Firebase API terms, or applicable law.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the compiled application (APK / IPA) without prior written permission from the publisher.
- Use the app to harass, harm, or impersonate any other person.
6. Subscriptions and refunds
- Optional Pro features are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions through Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple’s App Store (iOS), with entitlement managed by RevenueCat.
- Pricing, free trial duration (if any), and billing frequency are shown on the in-app paywall before purchase.
- Refunds are handled by the store, not by the publisher. Use Google Play’s or the App Store’s refund flow.
- Cancel at any time from your store account; access continues until the end of the paid period.
7. Intellectual property
- The app’s source, assets, copy, exercise selection, progression rules, and brand belong to the publisher and are protected by copyright.
- You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the app on devices you own or control.
- “Firebase”, “Google Cloud”, “Google Play”, “Android”, “Apple”, “iOS”, and “App Store” are trademarks of their respective owners. References in the app and these Terms are nominative only.
8. Third-party services
The app makes calls from your device to third-party services, including Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Crashlytics, Performance) and RevenueCat. Subscription payments are processed by Google Play Billing or Apple’s App Store. Data flows between your device and these services are governed by their own terms:
- Google Terms of Service — https://policies.google.com/terms
- Firebase Terms — https://firebase.google.com/terms
- Google Cloud Platform Terms — https://cloud.google.com/terms
- Apple Media Services Terms — https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/
- RevenueCat Terms — https://www.revenuecat.com/terms
The publisher is not responsible for the practices, availability, or content of these third-party services.
9. Disclaimer of warranty
The app is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, availability, or non-infringement.
The exercises, doses, progression rules, pain heuristics, and educational content reflect general rehab guidance and are not personalized medical advice. Information shown in the app may be delayed, approximated, or incomplete. Always consult a qualified clinician before starting or changing a rehab program.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The publisher is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
- The publisher’s total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to the app, regardless of the cause, is capped at the total amount you paid the publisher for the app in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For users on the free tier, that amount is zero.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
11. Changes to these Terms
The publisher may update these Terms when product, legal, or operational practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in-app on first launch after the update. Continued use of the app after the new Terms are published constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent French courts, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you enjoy in your country of residence.
13. How to stop using the app
You can stop using the app at any time:
- Delete your data from inside the app: Settings → Privacy → Delete my data.
- Uninstall the app from your device.
- Cancel your subscription from your Google Play or Apple App Store account.
- Revoke any OAuth access (if you used Google Sign-In) at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel an active subscription — cancel it from the store first.
Golf Elbow Oracle is an educational self-management app. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified clinician for medical concerns.
